What types of company permissions are there?

There are 4 types of Users: 

Company permissions take precedence over store permissions. So if you assign the role of Supervisor, the user will have that role in all stores, unless you assign a more important role such as Administrator or Owner. You can only give the same permissions or lower permissions than you currently have.
